05/05/2020 COVID-19 WOD

Happy MAY everyone!! We have made it to yet another month despite any doubts in our minds. With shelter in place being extended out here in the Bay Area, looks like I’ll be hosting you all for a bit longer than we thought. That said, today’s workout should be relatively short.

I have said this before on our live sessions but I want to emphasize yet again that these workouts are not about how fast you can get through them, but they are about form. They are about focusing in on the movement, not just moving your body as fast as possible. So let’s start to make great habits today, May 5th, 2020!

Season is right around the corner, I have hope!

What you’ll need for today’s workout:

  • Gym shoes

  • Water

  • A chair - yes a chair specifically, there are several exercises that we will use this for.

  • A smaller uplifted object - i.e. stairs or the base of a couch without the cushions. This elevation should be approximately the same height as the length of your upper arm (~12”)

  • Minimal weight if you please

How to read my programs:

  1. Start with the warm up! All movements can be found on my Youtube channel.

  2. Superset #1 is next! You’ll go do the three exercises in a row and following the order on the program until you have completed all rounds. Quick Hydration!

  3. Complete Superset #2 as you completed the first superset - completing three rounds of rotating through all the movements. Quick Hydration!

  4. Circuit. Our circuit today will be 3 rounds of all the exercises in order below. These exercises will be completed one after another with no break and your job is to get as many reps in as possible during each :30s time block.

  5. Extras. Today we are focusing on your speed/agility and ability to change directions QUICK. You’ll also see some shoulder stability work in there as well. Goal here is not to load up on weight because this is a injury preventative measure, not strength.

Join in during the live workouts to get the most out of these programs. You’ll feel the pace with my instruction and also you’ll start to feel some competition by working out in a group setting!

I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am if you all can help to spread the word.
